So after my rage quit earlier this week, I told my facebook friends about my forfeit. They were not happy. I was called a quitter, a disappointment, a fraud and I think someone called me stupid. So fine. I will do it. I will get 120 stars and beat this damn game. I'm up to 89, and there's some stars I need to get that will surely end up in a couple broken controllers. I'm gonna do it. Now everybody shut up.
I have played through this game a few times. Back at the N64 release, I managed to get 119 stars fairly easily. I don't recall any particularly infuriating sections.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I was never able to get the star for 100 coins on the final level (Rainbow Road or whatever its called). I would alway miss a coin or two, or fall off the moving platform. Now THAT was a reason to throw the controller against the wall.
So, I was never able to get 120 stars, but I am fine with that. If I ever get my hands on another N64 system and the game (which I feel was the best Mario game until Galaxy), I will dedicate myself to getting 120. But until then, I am comfortable with myself.
